Biostatistician at the Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research

The Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research (www.sakk.ch) is the cancer research network in Switzerland and employs over 80 people at the Competence Center of SAKK. In line with our vision “We bring progress to cancer care”, we have been conducting clinical trials in oncology as a non-profit organization since 1965.

 

To complement our team, we are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team immediately or upon agreement as

 

Biostatistician 80 – 100 %

 

Your tasks:

  • Ensure sound statistical planning, analysis, reporting, and publication of clinical trials and the associated research projects (e.g. translational research, quality of life, etc.) as well as registry projects
  • Provide input, discuss and develop trial proposals with investigators
  • Review relevant documents (e.g. trial proposals, statistical analysis plans, clinical study reports, etc.)
  • Work with Clinical Data Managers and statistical programmers to ensure high data quality
  • Provide statistical support and advice to other biostatisticians within the statistics team and to physicians in the SAKK network
  • Keep up to date with developments in statistics and oncology through literature review, conference attendance, etc.
  • Initiate and perform methodological research in medical statistics when appropriate

 

About you:

  • Ph.D. or Master’s Degree / Diploma in statistics or a related field
  • Experience as a statistician in clinical trials, in oncology and/or working as a statistical consultant would be an asset
  • Knowledge in trial design and survival analysis would be an asset
  • Familiar with statistical software packages such as SAS and R
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to work both independently and in interdisciplinary teams
  • Very good project management skills, ability to work efficiently in several parallel projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Ability to communicate in German
