Job posting: PhD position on clinical prediction modeling at KU Leuven (Belgium)

Vacancy for a full-time PhD scholarship on methodological and applied research in clinical risk prediction modeling at KU Leuven

 

We are offering a PhD position to analyze data from the International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA) group to investigate heterogeneity between hospitals regarding the performance of the ADNEX risk model to diagnose model, and to conduct simulation studies to improve statistical methods regarding risk model development and validation.

 

We are looking for a colleague with  (1) a Master’s degree in (medical) statistics or another subject in combination with an additional training in (medical) statistics; (2) strong interest in clinical prediction, diagnosis, prognosis, risk estimation, with attention for the clinical context in which prediction models will be used; (3) understanding of regression modeling, more flexible machine learning models, and statistical programming (preferably in R); (4) fluency in English.

 

We offer employment as full-time doctoral scholar for 1 year, starting in October 2022, renewable until max. 4 years after a positive evaluation. Promoters are prof Ben Van Calster (medical statistician) and prof Dirk Timmerman (gynecologist).
