We seek to appoint a talented Statistician/Genetic Epidemiologist who will contribute to a programme of work on the development of cancer risk prediction tools for breast, ovarian and prostate cancer, led by Professor Antonis Antoniou and funded by Cancer Research UK. The main objective of the programme is to develop and validate quantitative tools for cancer risk stratification and prevention that take advantage of discoveries in both cancer genomics and epidemiology. The goals will be achieved through the development of novel analytical techniques and their application to data from epidemiological studies, including large international consortia and biobanks. The successful applicant will be involved in the analysis of genetic association, epidemiological and family based studies as part of large scale international collaborations and/or the development of novel statistical analysis techniques for addressing the programme aims.

Applicants should have a Masters or PhD in statistics, mathematics, epidemiology, genetic epidemiology or a related scientific discipline, with some experience in the analysis of large datasets or equivalent experience. Applicants should have an interest in developing and applying innovative analytical techniques for addressing clinical questions. Experience in genetic analysis and the development of statistical methods would be a strong advantage.asdasd Where a PhD has yet to be awarded appointment will initially be made at research assistant and amended to research associate when the PhD is awarded.
