The Division of Biostatistics at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) is seeking a\r\n\r\n          (Bio-)Statistician\r\n          (Ref-No. 2019-0309)\r\n\r\nDescription:\r\n\r\nThe Division of Biostatistics provides statistical support for all scientific duties\r\nof the DKFZ. Our field of activity spans from biostatistical consulting and\r\nstatistical analysis of biomedical data to the development of complex methods for\r\nspecific scientific questions. The application of new techniques in the rapidly\r\nevolving field of biomedical research necessitates research for novel biostatistical\r\nmethods to enable adequate data analysis. \r\n\r\nWhat we offer:\r\n- A two-year position with the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), where you will\r\njoin a capable and dedicated team of statisticians engaged in collaborative projects\r\ninvolving clinical and laboratory cancer research in cooperation with a variety of\r\ninteresting clients, both internal and external.\r\n- A competent and friendly Biostatistics division situated in the northern part of\r\nbeautiful Heidelberg.\r\n- State-of-the-art statistical support individually tailored to each project. We\r\nanalyze data ranging from high-dimensional genetic and other molecular origin to in\r\nvitro studies and clinical trials. Our team strives to be at the forefront of\r\ninterdisciplinary research and applied statistics.\r\n- A chance to contribute to the advancement of cancer research.\r\n- The freedom to develop inventive biostatistical approaches emerging from real-life\r\napplications.\r\n\r\nYour duties:\r\n- Biostatistical support for clinical phase II\/III trials, with a specific focus on\r\nbiomarker- and\/or genomic-driven trials studies.\r\n- Development and application of biostatistical analysis strategies.\r\n- Consulting and support for design and conduct of various research projects. \r\n- Development and application of statistical regression models based on\r\nhigh-dimensional input data for the identification of prognostic and predictive\r\nbiomarkers.\r\n\r\nYour profile:\r\n- Master\/Diploma\/PhD in (bio-)statistics, mathematics or a related discipline \r\n- Sound knowledge within the field of statistics\r\n- Experience with the analysis of clinical or high-dimensional data, in particular\r\nwith applications in molecular biology, is an advantage\r\n- Solid statistical programming skills, preferably with R\r\n- Very good written and oral communication skills in English \r\n- Strong interest in interdisciplinary research\r\n\r\nDuration:\r\nThe position is limited to 2 years with the possibility of prolongation.\r\n\r\nContact:\r\nAxel Benner, phone +49 6221 42-2390.\r\n\r\nTo apply for a position please use our online application portal\r\n(https:\/\/www.dkfz.de\/en\/stellenangebote<\/a> \/index.php).\r\n\r\nThe German Cancer Research Center is committed to increase the percentage of female\r\nscientists and encourages female applicants to apply.
