These fellowships are appropriate for both postdoctoral researchers and for more senior non-UK based research visitors.<\/p>\n<p>KEY FACTS:<\/p>\n<p>Closing date for applications: <strong>8th July 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>How to apply: Email\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:hsgrants@le.ac.uk\">hsgrants@le.ac.uk<\/a>\u00a0stating your area of interest and attaching your curriculum vitae.<\/p>\n<p>Start date for Fellowship: During the 12 months from May 2017 onwards<\/p>\n<p>Further details can be found at; \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/1X0H6bT\">http:\/\/bit.ly\/1X0H6bT<\/a>\u00a0and details of the Department of Health Sciences are at;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.le.ac.uk\/departments\/health-sciences\">https:\/\/www2.le.ac.uk\/departments\/health-sciences<\/a><\/p>\n<p>SCHEME OUTLINE &amp; RESEARCH AREAS:<\/p>\n<p>Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Individual Fellowships (IFs) provide significant financial support to Research Fellows for a period of between 12 and 24 months.<\/p>\n<p>The fellowships are aimed at &#8216;experienced researchers&#8217; (i.e. those who hold a doctoral degree) to promote skill acquisition through advanced training, international and inter-sectoral mobility.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Health Sciences would like to hear from researchers interested in any of the following research areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Respiratory genomics<\/li>\n<li>Blood pressure genomics<\/li>\n<li>Complex disease genomics<\/li>\n<li>Epidemiology of chronic disease<\/li>\n<li>Causality in epidemiological research<\/li>\n<li>Relatedness in genetic epidemiology studies<\/li>\n<li>Observational pharmacogenetics<\/li>\n<li>Statistical methods in Health Technology Assessment (HTA)<\/li>\n<li>Statistical methods in the epidemiology of non-communicable disease<\/li>\n<li>Development and validation of prognostic models of non-communicable disease<\/li>\n<li>Evidence synthesis and economic decision modelling<\/li>\n<li>Analysis of survival data<\/li>\n<li>Issues in the detection and diagnosis of adult autism<\/li>\n<li>Perinatal mortality<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring outcomes through clinical audit<\/li>\n<li>Late preterm and early term birth: perinatal management, neonatal and infant outcomes<\/li>\n<li>Neonatal pain assessment and management<\/li>\n<li>Long-term outcomes following preterm birth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>ELIGIBILITY &amp; EXPECTATIONS:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fellows must have been _<em>awarded<\/em>_ a PhD by 14 September 2016<\/li>\n<li>Fellows must not have spent more than 12 months out of the last 3 years in the UK<\/li>\n<li>Fellows can be of any nationality, current location and level of experience (provided they hold a PhD)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Marie Curie Individual Fellowships are extremely competitive and prospective fellows are therefore expected to have a strong CV relative to their career stage.<\/p>\n<p>Supported applicants will be expected to contribute significantly to the development of their application.<\/p>\n<p>HOW THE SCHEME WORKS:<\/p>\n<p>MSCA funds projects using fixed \u2018unit costs\u2019 for the researcher and the institution.
