Machine Learning \u2013 University of Oslo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We would like to inform interested candidates about <strong>three fully funded positions<\/strong> (2 PhD and 1 Postdoctoral) in Statistics \/ Machine Learning at the <strong>Oslo Centre for Biostatistics and Epidemiology (OCBE)<\/strong>, <strong>University of Oslo (UiO), Norway<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udd2c PhD Positions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Two motivated PhD candidates are sought to work at the intersection of <strong>machine learning, probabilistic modelling, and genetics<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>PhD Project 1:<\/strong> Development of novel methods for analyzing tensors with complex latent dependencies, combining machine learning models with efficient Bayesian inference (e.g., variational approximation)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>PhD Project 2:<\/strong> Development of generative models for discrete sequence data, combining diffusion models and coalescent theory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udd2c Postdoctoral Position<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The 3-year postdoctoral position is part of a project funded by the <strong>Research Council of Norway<\/strong> and focuses on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Bayesian models for unsupervised learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integration of multiple data sources<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applications in probabilistic recommender systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udf0d Environment &amp;
