Dr. Naska is a graduate of the Dept. of Chemistry (School of Science, NKUA), with postgraduate studies in Human Nutrition (King’s College, School of Health and Life Sciences, University of London) and Epidemiology (School of Medicine, NKUA). Currently A. Naska serves as Professor of Hygiene and Epidemiology at the Dept. of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Medical Statistics of the NKUA School of Medicine and as Vice-Chair of the Panel on Nutrition, Novel Foods and Food Allergens of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), and Chair of the EFSA Working Group on setting tolerable upper intake levels for vitamins and minerals. She also serves as Deputy Head (one of two) of the WHO Collaborating Center for Nutrition and Health in Athens, Greece.
Her undergraduate and graduate teaching covers the fields of epidemiology-research methodology and preventive medicine-public health. Her research work relates to nutritional epidemiology, with a focus on dietary assessment methods, evaluations of diet disease associations and the development of novel, food-related, risk benefit assessments. Within this context, A. Naska has coordinated and participated in national and international studies and consortia. In December 2023, more than 350 scientific publications by A. Naska were listed in PubMed. Her work, according to the Clarivate Web of Science, was cited more than 16.000 times and her Η-index was estimated to be 70.
