Trials Methodologist/Senior Trials Methodologist
Salary Range: £41,607 – £48,224 per annum
Hours per week: 35 hours (full time), part time (minimum 60% FTE) will be considered.
Length of Contract: Fixed Term for 24 months

Summary of Role
The Clinical Trials and Statistics Unit at The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR-CTSU) is expanding its statistical and methodology team of over 20 statisticians at its Sutton site in Surrey. ICR-CTSU manages an exciting portfolio of national and international phase II and III clinical trials and an expanding number of early phase I/II cancer trials.
The post-holder will have a dual role: (a) developing novel methodologies in the design and analysis of clinical trials, and (b) applying efficient methods in new and ongoing trials. They will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on trials methodology research, as well as the statistical development, oversight and analysis of a number of clinical trials within ICR-CTSU’s portfolio and the early phase portfolio in collaboration with the Drug Development Unit at ICR and Royal Marsden, and external organisations. Under the guidance of principal statisticians and the ICR-CTSU Methodology Lead, they will work across a varied portfolio across all trial phases, with a primary focus in developing and implementing efficient trial methodology in early phase and adaptive trials.
Key Requirements
The successful applicant will be an experienced and highly motivated statistician interested in researching new statistical methods to improve efficiency in clinical trials and eager to apply their statistical knowledge across various therapeutic areas in oncology. They will have a post-graduate qualification in statistics. They should demonstrate a solid understanding of clinical trials and experience in applying statistical methods to real-world data. Familiarity with Bayesian statistics is highly desirable. Effective oral and written communication skills, along with enthusiasm for collaborating with others from diverse disciplines, are essential.
