Hi all,

We have an exciting opportunity to join Newcastle University’s Biostatistics Research Group (BRG, www.newcastle-biostatistics.com). Funding is available for two new research posts at different levels depending on the candidate’s experience and track record. The posts will report to me and are funded by several projects that have the aim of developing and applying innovative biostatistics methods to design rheumatology and musculoskeletal clinical trials. The postholders will have opportunities develop their own research projects for funding (for example through fellowships or project grant applications).

The BRG is a dynamic group of 32 applied and methodological biostatisticians who work together to develop and implement state-of-the-art statistical methods in health research. Further details on the group and our research focuses are given at www.newcastle-biostatistics.com. The BRG is part of the Population Health Sciences Institute and works closely with a number of NIHR-funded infrastructures in the University, including the Newcastle Clinical Trials Unit and the soon-to-start Research Support Service.

For all levels we are looking for an individual who is ambitious to achieve results, who works well with others and who is willing to be involved to maintain and improve our positive research culture.

More details on the roles and person specifications are available at: https://jobs.ncl.ac.uk/job-invite/26043/

The roles will be based in our offices on the University main campus. In alignment with Newcastle University’s flexible working policies, this position allows for a blended working arrangement.

The start date is flexible but ideally late 2023/early 2024.

I’m happy to receive informal enquiries (james.wason@newcastle.ac.uk)
