EXPANSE EXposome Powered tools for healthy living in urbAN Settings. EXPANSE focuses on the urban exposome and investigates the impact of environmental exposure on human health, aiming to answer “How to maximize one’s health in a modern urban environment?” (2020-present). EXHAUSTION Exposure to heat and air pollution in EUrope-cardiopulmonary impacts and benefits of mitigation and adaptation: Identifying adaptation strategies that will help avoid premature death & disease among vulnerable groups (older people, infants, the chronically ill, & disadvantaged people) (2019-present) STEAM Comparative evaluation of Spatio-Temporal Exposure Assessment Methods for estimating the health effects of air pollution (2016-2019). Supervision of 17 graduate students, Supervision of their dissertation within the M.Sc. Biostatistics Programme, Department of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Medical Statistics, Medical School & Faculty of Mathematics NKUA, Greece.

Biostatistics and epidemiology, mainly focused on environmental epidemiology. Applied statistics for studying the health effects of environmental stressors, i.e. outdoor air pollution, land/built environment, noise and temperature changes. Using Geographical Information Systems to develop statistical methodology and hybrid spatio-temporal models (i.e. combining LUR models, Dispersion models Machine Learning, Satelite data) for exposure assessment and subsequent application in epidemiological studies. Big-data management and analysis of mega-administrative cohorts. Meta-analysis.
